Who am I?

I'm Mateo, and at 17, I've already spent about five years working in media. I've built my YouTube channel that is currently standing at over 25,000 subscribers and gotten more than 2 million views on it. What started as a fun thing to do became a serious creative endeavor. It taught me a lot about digital media, how to keep an audience interested, how to make content, and how to use all major editing softwares.

I’ve also had the opportunity to work with the biggest names in Romania's online scene. One of the most important was Selly, who is the biggest influencer in Romania (over 10M subscribers on all platforms), and the person who made Beach, Please!, which is the largest urban music festival in Europe. I've also worked as a cameraman and video editor for people like him, which gave me great experience in professional production settings.

I also edited content for U.S. influencers, like Ben Azelart on his “Stay Wild” channel. The videos I've made myself and the ones I've edited for others have gotten over 50 million views across different sites.

I picked Media Studies because it's a good fit with what I'm already doing. It’s a structured way to learn about the theories, ways, and industry rules behind the kind of work I’ve been part of. I want to add to my hands-on experience by getting a more thoughtful and detailed view of media. I think this will help me improve both as a creative person and in my personal endeavours.
